The objective of this work package is to establish a coherent analytical framework for the research to be undertaken in the areas of geopolitics and governance; demography and ageing; management of environment and natural resources, mitigation of and adaptation to global warming; economic development, trade and investment; human capital, social protection, inequality and imigration; and, regional integration and cooperation with the EU. The overall scientific coordination will be ensured by the Scientific Bureau consisting of a multidisciplinary team of senior researchers from all partner institutes involved in MEDPRO:

The Scientific Bureau will benefit from the wide expertise of Prof. Kemal Dervis, Former Head of the United Nations Development Program and current Vice President and Director of Global Economy and Development at Brookings Institution. In addition to the Scientific Bureau, the Scenario Building Committee will be set for the needs of the foresight exercise. Its task will be to coordinate the inputs of each work package in a first stage in order to deliver prospective scenarios that will serve as a basis for the elaboration of the policy options in the final stage of the research.
